Rockslide At Little Dume Beach, Avoid Area: City

Residents are advised to avoid certain areas in Malibu due to a rockslide.

MALIBU, CA — A large rockslide occurred Monday around 12 p.m. at Little Dume Beach in Malibu, leaving a potential for more falling rocks, according to the City of Malibu.

The rockslide occurred at the end of Cliffside Drive. The city is coordinating with the County's department of beaches and harbors and California State Parks and inspecting the area, the city said in a safety alert.

City personnel met Monday at 2 p.m. to create a plan and evaluate risk to nearby structures, said Susan Dueñas, Public Safety Manager for Malibu. As of 2:30 p.m. rocks were still falling.
