Santa Monica College Fireworks Entertain Spectators
The college gets the Independence Day celebration started early with a fireworks show on Saturday.
Santa Monica College dazzled spectators Saturday with its annual Celebrate America event, featuring live music and fireworks at Corsair field.
"We love fireworks and it's a great thing to take the whole family to," said attendee Dorothy Hand, who came to the event early to enjoy a picnic with her family.
Spectators huddled on picnic blankets and packed the bleachers as they gazed at the sky to watch the spectacle. One would have thought it was the Fourth of July with the festive Independence Day atmosphere surrounding the college.
