Search For Missing Woman In Malibu Continues

A Colorado woman seems to have disappeared in Malibu after leaving her rental car parked on Pacific Coast Highway.

MALIBU, CA — Officials in Malibu will continue to search for a woman who disappeared, leaving behind an alarming trail of clues.

According to authorities, a 30-year-old Colorado woman who suffers from depression, flew to Los Angeles and abandoned her rental car on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

The sheriff's department search for Jennifer Michelle Lorber will be conducted in the water and on land Tuesday from the Westward Beach/Point Dume area south to Paradise Cove. The search area spans the area where her rental car was found, Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

Lorber suffers from depression and her family is concerned about her, detectives said.

Lorber was last seen at about 11 p.m. Thursday after she arrived in Los Angeles. She had checked into a motel in the 22000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, detectives said.

Her rental car, a white 2018 Toyota Rav4, was found at 11:15 p.m. Saturday parked on Pacific Coast Highway at Paradise Cove Road, Koerner said. She is white, 5 feet 1, 100 pounds, with long brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Lorber's whereabouts was asked to call Sgt. Mike Rodriguez in the Sheriff's Department's Missing Persons Unit at 323- 890-5500 or 911. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
