Sharks Baseball Tied For First Place

Senior Harry McAlevey moves to an impressive 6-0 on the season and the Sharks are tied with St. Bonaventure for first place in league play.

The Sharks avenged Wednesday's loss and beat Nordhoff 5-3 behind the pitching of senior Harry McAlevey on Friday.  

McAlevey pitched six innings while only giving up three runs and Noah Simon pitched the seventh ending the rally earning his second conference save.  

The conference's leading hitter Jordan Simon went 3-4 and so did senior outfielder Hunter Johnson. Evan Anthony had two hits including a two-out, bases loaded double in the first inning that put Nordhoff down 3-0.

The Sharks never gave up the lead behind the great pitching and defense. 

Sophomore Shortstop Chase Lambert made a great play with two runners on in the seventh inning, helping secure the win for the Sharks and the save for fellow Sophomore Noah Simon. Matt Gruskin added two hits as well.

The Sharks win moves them to 5-1 in conference play and in first place with St. Bonaventure, the perennial conference and CIF power.

Next week the Sharks conference action continues with Oak Park on Wednesday and Friday and the Sharks great season continues with a conference championship and CIF playoffs in sight.
