Sharks Golf Reaches Season's Midpoint
The MHS Young Men's Golf Team placed fifth in its most recent tournament.

The Malibu High Young Men's Golf Team has reached the mid-point of their league tournament schedule, and the team recently placed fifth at Lost Canyons Golf Course among the six school Tri-Valley League.
League tournament play has been dominated by Oaks Christian School, who has placed first each match with the top three players in the league and five of the top ten players overall. Oak Park has placed second in all league matches and has three players in the top ten in regards to individual scores.
In regards to the league tournaments, Malibu junior Will Rosenthal has the lowest average (83) for the Sharks, followed by sophomore Josh Corrigan (92), who has shown great potential in non-league and league rounds, followed by senior Jack Platner (96). These three, along with seniors Sadler Semkin and Jack Walecki, juniors Vinnie Van Patten and Wynn Jacobson Galan, and freshman Matthew Awbrey, will look to improve their individual scores at the last three league matches, starting on May 1st at Malibu Golf Club.
Overall the team has played eight matches for a total of 11 nine-hole scores. Five of the six individual scores count to make up the total team score, and a score of 210 is considered a playoff caliber team. The team has set a goal to not score above 250. After 11 nine-hole rounds, the Sharks have a low of 218 versus Viewpoint, and a high of 271 against Villanova, a match in which many players were unable to travel due to the Every 15 Minutes program.
The Sharks currently have an average team score of 243.
