Sharks Sweep Grace Brethren

MHS varsity baseball is off to its best start in school history.

Sharks senior Harry McAlevey moved to 5-0 on the year and 2-0 in conference play by pitching a complete game, three-hit shutout versus conference foe Grace Brethren on Friday at Malibu High School.

Mark Stevenson went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Jordan Simon had two hits, four stolen bases and scored both runs for the Sharks, giving McAlevey all the run support he would need, as the Sharks won 2-0.

McAlevey struck out three, including the game's final batter, to seal the victory for the Sharks, who also beat Grace Brethren 11-6 on Wednesday behind the pitching of Matt Gruskin and Noah Simon. The offense for Wednesday's win was provided by Jordan Simon, who had two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored, as he continues to put together an impressive season.
