Sharks Water Polo Continues Dominance Over Carpinteria Warriors
Boys varsity wins and the JV team completely overwhelms the JV Warriors in a 16 to 2 win.
It was a beautiful and warm day at the "Shark Tank," but the temperature in the Malibu High pool got a little heated when the Sharks played league rival Carpinteria Warriors.
The game started with Coach Mulligan deciding not to start his four usual seniors, and the Sharks led after the first quarter on goals by Owen Franz and Henry Buckley by a score of 2-1.
The seniors joined the game in the second quarter and the Sharks scored all three goals in the quarter. First Jordan Clarke got in on the action, then Buckley scored again and the Franz netted his second goal.

The third quarter started to get a little "chippy," and Emmet Pierson was sent off after wrestling with one of the Warriors. Goals by Pierson, Jens Cole, Clarke and Buckley made it 9-3 after three quarters.
The fourth quarter got no better for the Warriors and another goal by Clarke and a 5 meter penalty shot goal by Pierson made the final score 11-4. Dane Sartorious and Jack Thompson split time in the goal and made a total of 12 blocks.

The team is getting prepared for their rematch with Oaks Christian on Friday.
"We're going to win," Jordan Clarke said.
Jens Cole agreed, "I think if we control our kick outs we will win."
The JV team was up next and completely over-matched the Warriors. The score was 6-0 at half-time and the Sharks pulled away for a 16-2 win. Phillip Campanella had six goals and Freddy Keith had five goals.
But the talk on the pool deck was all about Friday's match up against the Oaks Christian Lions. The Lions Coach Larry Felix has his top ranked team playing great water polo and this looks to be one of the better games of the season. The varsity teams play at 3:15 p.m. and the JV teams play at 4 p.m. at Oaks Christian.
