Wild Crash Shuts Down Las Virgenes Road For Hours
At least one car flipped, closing Las Virgenes Road in a crash shortly after reports of a speeding car was seen running red lights.

MALIBU, CA — The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the Malibu area where a major rollover crash knocked down power lines shutting down Las Virgenes Road in both directions for hours.
The crash happened at about 2: 15 p.m. South of Mulholland Drive shortly after the California Highway Patrol began receiving 9-1-1 calls of about a reckless driver, speeding, running red light and crossing the double yellow lines.
A 23-year-old man from Calabasas driving a Chrysler 300 crossed over a double yellow line and hit a Chevy Spark, causing the Chrysler to lose control and crash into a power pole, said California Highway Patrol Officer Leland Tang. The crash knocked down power lines, and the Chrysler landed over the side of the road in a tangle of downed wires. The driver sustained major injuries, said Lang.
