One might say students at Pepperdine University now dine on five star-five diamond cuisine as the campus welcomes culinarian Caroline Bertsch as Executive Chef.
Cooking since she was 12 years old, and in professional kitchens since the age of 15, Bertsch is a CIA Hyde Park Graduate who spent the majority of her years working her way through the Ritz Carlton. Bertsch began at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel property as a Banquet Chef from a premiere five star country club.
Working at every level of The Ritz and in every culinary department, Bertsch became Executive Sous Chef of the property for several years and then became a chef for The Hotel Bel-Air.

“I have a five star five diamond attitude and execution for everything I do,” said Bertsch. “It is this dedication and approach I bring to Pepperdine University.”
Bertsch’s background is Classical French Cuisine. She has been featured on The Food Network and in a documentary on Surfing Chefs in Los Angeles. ABC Network featured Bertsch’s life story as a Chef for The Ritz who started cooking as a child. She performed several recipes on subsequent shows for the ABC morning talk show.
