MALIBU, CA -- A spousal battery suspect who was sought after allegedly assaulting a bail bondsman crashed a vehicle into another vehicle Monday in Malibu while being chased by deputies.

Deputies confirmed that the suspect has physically assaulted the bail bondsman and that he was wanted for a domestic violence incident, Rotella said.

The suspect was located about 30 minutes later by patrol deputies and although it appeared that he had initially stopped for deputies conducting a traffic stop, the man made a U-turn and sped away, crashing about a minute later, Rotella said.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Tyler Moyle of Malibu, suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, felony evading of a peace officer and battery, Rotella said.

Moyle was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
