Staff Appreciation

Trivia, food, an awards ceremony and some hula dancing are included in the festivities at the Malibu High PTSA's annual Malibu High Staff Luncheon.

The PTSA on April 29 hosted the annual Malibu High Staff Luncheon at . The staff members enjoyed a Malibu trivia game, a delicious lunch and an awards ceremony. 

Honorary Service Awards were given to assistant principal Wendy Wax Gellis and custodians Eric Martin and Dan Heiderman. Continuing Service Awards went to teachers Brigette Leonard, Katy Lapajne and Brian Corrigan; Bilingual Liaison Yalile Pieper and Senior Office Specialist Cynthia Slawter. 

The highlight of the event was a special performance by the , a group of Malibu women who take a hula class on Fridays at Paradise Cove.  Following the performance, some staff members participated in a hula contest, and Duke’s generously donated $50 gift certificates to the four winners.
