"At Summer's End" concert at MAHMA

Dearest Friends of Music,

Please join us Saturday, September 12th at 8:00 pm, for our, “At Summer’s End,” the final of our intimate MCMF September 2015 Special Events, featuring world-class guest musicians and artists from around the globe. Presenting time-honored Classical Masterworks, and exciting Classics-in-the-Making, you will be treated to, not just a concert: AN EXPERIENCE! We also hope you will join us for wine and cheese, and an exhilarating Juan Tallo photography show at 7:30pm prior to the concert.

For this Sunday’s final concert event, we eagerly anticipate brilliant performances by Hal Ott, flutist, Jeness Johnson, cellist, and Nandani Maria Sinha, mezzo soprano, joined by MAHMA Resident Artists, including our dynamic pianist, Wendy Prober. Each of our guest artists and their families are housed right here at MAHMA, where they have joined our resident artists in rehearsing, performing, dining, sharing stories and joking together in the company of one another, in-house, for the duration of their stay. For our artists, it is a time each year that is treasured and long remembered in the afterglow.

In turn, this warmth translates to the affable and intimate, yet fearless music making provided for audiences at MAHMA. Our goal is to inspire the heart and the intellect. We hope that MAHMA might serve as a refuge for our musical and arts communities, and in assisting in connecting our world with the ongoing search to realize its unlimited potential.

Escape to, “At Summer’s End,” and surround yourself in music, art and friendship! Come and bask in the beauty of our guest musicians’ splendid sonorities. --- On the varied musical menu: the sensual sonorities of the unmistakably fabulous “Habanera” from Georges Bizet’s, “Carmen;” the earthy richness of Edith Piaf’s, “La vie en rose;” the delightful “Serenade, Opus 25” of Beethoven; the passionate “Trio in e minor” of Dimitri Shostakovich; and a bittersweet dramatic silent short film of a motherless little girl and her devoted father entitled, As it is in Life, performed with music live to the picture. What a wonderful way to celebrate the close of summer!
