Talented Malibu High Volleyball Squad Suffers First Loss
The Sharks fall to Flintridge. They have an opportunity to bounce back from the loss on Friday against Cate.
After opening the season with wins against St. Monica and Thatcher, the girls varsity volleyball team lost at home on Tuesday to Flintridge.
Malibu is blessed this season with an exceptionally talented and athletic team. It is the type of squad that can achieve tremendous things, but first the Sharks must find ways to keep the momentum going in challenging times and play to their potential. Malibu was not beat by Flintridge, but rather the Sharks' unforced errors and lack of consistency lost the match for them.
Paige Stoker has done a great job stepping in for the injured Allison Hahn at setter. Offensive momentum was sparked numerous times by the consistent play of Makenzie Kizis, and the crowd was brought to their feet numerous times by the amazing athletic defensive plays of Coral Silverberg.

The team lost Tuesday night, but the mark of really great athletes is being able to bounce back. The Sharks have that opportunity on Friday in an away match against Cate. The next home match is Oct. 4 against Santa Paula at 6 p.m.
