Thousand Oaks High School Placed On Lockdown: Report
Westlake High School was placed on a lockdown Tuesday morning, according to a report.
THOUSAND OAKS, CA — Westlake High School was placed on a lockdown Tuesday morning following a reported threatening phone call, according to a report.
The school's front office received a call at 9:20 a.m. from a person who “made threatening comments regarding an intent to harm the school community," Principal Jason Branham told KTLA.
The school was subsequently placed on a "soft lockdown," which means students will not move between classes and all entry points to the campus were locked, according to the report.

The lockdown was lifted at 10:40 p.m. after authorities determined there was no threat to the community.
“The safety and well-being of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us,” Branham said in a statement. “We will always take every precaution to maintain the safety of our campus community. This includes investigating any potential threat of harm to the fullest with our partner, the Thousand Oaks Police Department.”
