Topanga Canyon Road Closes Due To Car Crash
Live power lines were down in the roadway when the crash occurred, prompting a SigAlert.

MALIBU, CA – Topanga Canyon Boulevard is closed again Monday morning, but this time it's from a car crash and not a mudslide, authorities said. The crash was reported just after 1 a.m. on Topanga Canyon Boulevard about 1 1/2 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said. A vehicle struck a utility pole.
No one from the crash required transport to a hospital, Kimball said. But a SigAlert was issued at 1:47 a.m. shutting down Topanga Canyon Boulevard between PCH and Grand View Drive because live power lines were down in the roadway.
Officers at the scene estimated the closure could remain in effect until 2 p.m. while repairs are made but indicated that timetable could be reduced in length, he said.
