Traffic Delays Expected This Weekend: Nautica Malibu Triathlon

The City of Malibu warns that certain parts of the city will be affected by traffic delays this weekend.

MALIBU, CA – On Saturday and Sunday, September 16-17 between 7 a.m. and noon, the Nautica Malibu Triathlon is expected to cause traffic in the area. The event will bring approximately 5,000 participants to Malibu, during the event traffic will be restricted on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) from Decker Road to Busch Drive.

The following intersections will be affected: Busch Drive, Westward Beach Road, Merritt Drive, Morning View Drive, Guernsey Avenue, Trancas Cyn Road, Broad Beach Road, Lunita Road, Encinal Cyn Road, and Decker Cyn Road.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputies and event crews will be directing traffic and provide traffic control. Temporary "No Parking" areas will be marked on Westward Beach Rd and the northwest shoulder of Trancas Canyon Road (between PCH and La Gloria Drive).

Motorists should allow extra time and use extra caution when driving along the event route, the statement said. Expect delays and use alternate routes if possible, the City of Malibu suggests.
