Two Airlifted After Their Car Plunges Into Las Flores Canyon In Malibu

MALIBU, CA — Two people were seriously injured early Friday morning after the vehicle they were driving in plunged into Las Flores Canyon, authorities said.

Malibu Search and Rescue, the California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Fire Department and McCormick Ambulance were dispatched to the scene of the incident at 12:42 a.m. Friday morning. The caller said that two occupants were trapped in a vehicle that had driven over the side of Las Flores Canyon Road.

Rescuers descended down a steep embankment and through heavy brush to reach the victims, who were separately airlifted to a local trauma center for treatment.
