What we are NOT teaching in our schools. It comes at a price.

These three women were all executed in December of 1945 after a swift but thorough trial into Nazi war crimes. Before the Nazi uprising these three women might have been just like any other
women...they were prison guards at Bergen Belsen camp where Anne Frank
and many, many, other Jews died....the woman at the top was particularly
noted for her cruelty....she was a hairdresser before the war....not a
violent or hateful person by any accounts before Hitler started setting
his sights on total world domination and genocide. The lady in the
middle was a ruthless prison guard as well but she
likely had no propensity towards violent or cruel behavior before she
decided to take on the characteristics of her culture and her nation.
Same can be said for the woman on the far right....they didn't use their
critical thinking skills...they didn't exercise their own
consciences.....their minds, never grounded in anything sacred, were
easily manipulated and controlled. Their minds were used for trivial
pursuits....and 60 million lives were lost.

Who do we blame? It's easy to start with Hitler, but it takes more
than a Hitler, much, much, more. It takes a very stifling culture (like
all cultures) that demand obedience to the "group" or nation. It requires obedience to
authority. It takes people who have not developed proper emotional
connection with the welfare and pain of others. It takes parents, who,
because of their poor upbringing, did not instill in their children
compassion for others who are not just like themselves....

What do we teach in our schools? We spend hours teaching foreign languages that
99% of the students won't remember past graduation day....they won't
even be able to order food off a menu in a mexican restaurant after 3 or
4 years of compulsory spanish...it's almost a total waste of resources and time in my opinion. We don't have the will or time to teach them ethics and compassion? We are paying for the consequences of
those misguided decisions. Are there any schools in America that teach
even one basic course in Compassion and Ethics??? Just one? I think our priorities are messed up.

I don't care if these women know Spanish or French
....that won't keep them from carrying out the orders of a furor
hellbent on genocide.....keep your foreign language........Start with
History and Compassion and Ethics....it just might save the next 60
million lives...
