What would the world be like if you had never been born?

This question was posed most memorably in the classic Christmas film, ”It’s a Wonderful Life”.

Leaving a large, positive, footprint on the world is an opportunity that is open to all of us. We can choose to look right in front of ourselves, at what satisfies our own personal needs and wants, OR, we can step far back from the ”picture” of life and try to see and realize all of the circumstances where we can lessen the suffering of others and bring a higher sense of empowerment and dignity to people, all people. It’s not just about our immediate family.

George Bailey had the gift of being able to see a world that never had him in it. He was able to see all of the lives he had helped, all the impact of his humanity and empathy...and it stretched much further than he could have ever imagined.

Life can be that way if we have the right approach, perspective, and will. We can live a large, ”Wonderful” life...or a small one. The choice is ours. It is staring at us right in the face every day.
