WHY IS EVERYONE (EXCEPT JUDD) SO QUIET?
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (and women) to do nothing? - Winston Churchill.

The celebrity community has been deafeningly quiet about the widespread sociopathic behavior of Bill Cosby. How in the world can that be happening? Aren’t we all trying to uphold a civilization here? Where are people who are willing to take a stand? A fairly well known comedian/director named Judd Apatow is the only one I know who is taking this to the streets. He pounds it! He won’t let this go.....that’s the way it should be....why should Cosby be able to depend on all of pop culture..and all of his fellow comedians and celebrity friends to keep quiet...? Why is a serial rapist and a person who calls his victims ”liars” someone we should be protecting....? People aren’t staying quiet on Donald Trump’s reckless rants...that’s for sure. Cosby raped and drugged repeatedly. Ex Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky was convicted of sexual assault in 15 cases with underage boys while a coach. He is serving a 30 to 60 year sentence in the State Penitentiary of Pennsylvania. I guess Sandusky’s mistake was violating boys and not girls...and not being a big enough celebrity. Cosby is probably out playing tennis or going to dinner in Beverly Hills.
When we protect Cosby...we are accomplices to his cause, but more importantly, we are FAILING to protect the victims...the many, many, victims....we have a choice...we can protect a serial rapist who drugs women and lies...a sociopath by any standard...OR, we can condemn his deeds in the strongest of ways and speak out for the victims...both present AND future victims....

Cosby expected to ”triumph”...we know that ...he banked on it....and he gambled that his fans, fellow celebrities, etc., would do ”nothing”...and he was right!
“I absolutely would like to see him in jail,” Apatow told Mike Maron. on WTF’s podcast. “That’s where people who commit sexual assaults go.”

Actually, Judd is mistaken on that....only 3% of rapists spend even a day in jail. This from a study by RAINN, The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network.
Apatow says he felt the public response was “too quiet,” and so he decided to voice his opinions.
“I thought, ‘Don’t we care about this?’ Eighty percent of women who have been raped don’t go to the police, so if you ignore all of these women, you’re sending a message to other women to not stand up for themselves, to not speak out,” Apatow says. “I wish everyone spoke out and I didn’t have to.”
God Bless Judd Apatow! We need a lot more Judd Apatow’s to make this planet livable!
Why aren’t women speaking out? Cosby can even depend on (them) to go mute.
I am personally shocked that people aren‘t willing to take a stand on this (a loud stand).....take away their guns and raise their taxes or take away their Confederate flags, or block their view of the ocean and they will spill their own blood and fight till the death. But, a man rapes and drugs 40 (at last report) women (our mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives) and then..... calls them liars and infers they are skanks......and we shamelessly have nothing to say.....NO COMMENT....”pass the roast beef, please”
Where is the courage....? Where is the decency, even?
I want to say this quote again....”all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men (and women) to do nothing”. Well, on virtually ANY issue that involves women being denigrated, raped, subordinated, denied equal pay for equal work, etc., in our society...no one speaks out....is it only Gloria Allred who is willing to take this walk? We can virtually end smoking (one of our biggest addictions) in this country through a government assault on smokers...we did it in barely a decade. We can legalize gay marriage....we can protect the rights of family pets, as we should...but we have no will as a nation to protect women....None! We don’t even have an Equal Rights Amendment. This creature disguised as comedian romps around like the “Son of Sam” for over 4 decades (at least). Yes, I said ”Son of Sam”...Cosby mixed powerful Quaaludes with alcohol....any one (or all) of those women could have died from a reaction to that strong elixir...but Cosby thought raping them was worth putting their lives at stake. I’m sure he had a scripted alibi in the event that one of them died in his bed.
Who was doing their homework when this guy got a Presidential Medal of Freedom..? What a travesty??? He drugs women and rapes them and he is recognized by the President for his “Freedom”. I bet Lance
Armstrong won a Presidential Medal of Freedom as well.....We are drunk with celebrity worship in this country...and it is not something to be proud of....we turn our blind eye to the face of celebrity.
I, personally, think there are a lot of powerful men in our society who are very reluctant to bring attention to the sexual improprieties of others......it is way too close to home. Their dogs are “sleeping”.
Here is a Social Science review course on the ERA:
The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was a proposed amendment to the United States Constitution designed to guarantee equal rights for women. The ERA was originally written by Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman. In 1923, it was introduced in the Congress for the first time. In 1972, it passed both houses of Congress and was submitted to the state legislatures for ratification. It seemed headed for quick approval until Phyllis Schlafly mobilized conservative women in opposition, arguing that the ERA would disadvantage housewives.
Congress had set a ratification deadline of March 22, 1979. Through 1977, the amendment received 35 of the necessary 38 state ratifications. Five states later rescinded their ratifications before the 1979 deadline. In 1978, a joint resolution of Congress extended the ratification deadline to June 30, 1982, but no further states ratified the amendment and it died.
It is dead, and no one is gathering around to administer CPR...the Equal Rights Amendment is dead...as a doornail. Every other group in American has Equal Protection under the Law...but not women and girls!
Is there anything on the National agenda that is of lower priority than guaranteeing women equal protection under the law, than keeping our women and girls from being victimized and raped?
