Wife Of Late Comedian Don Rickles In PCH Crash

MALIBU, CA – The wife of late comedian Don Rickles was involved in a two-vehicle crash involving a large truck on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, the California Highway Patrol said Sunday, but she was not injured. Barbara R. Rickles, 80, was driving a 2014 BMW 740LI, when the the crash occurred at 1:10 p.m. Saturday on the northbound Pacific Coast Highway, north of Big Rock Drive, the CHP reported.

A 1999 International 4900 was at one point stopped on the right shoulder of the highway when, for unknown reasons, the left side of the large truck struck the right side of Rickles' car, which was going northbound in the No. 2 lane. The crash caused no damage to the truck and the BMW sustained minor damage, which included a broken right side mirror.

"Due to parties providing conflicting statements on scene, the cause of the collision cannot be determined," the CHP said.

Rickles' husband, actor-comedian Don Rickles, died April 6 of kidney failure at their home in Beverly Hills. He was 90.
