MALIBU, CA — The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory in Malibu, much of coastal LA County, and the San Fernando Valley, including Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Burbank, and Northridge. The advisory is in effect from Thursday at 3 a.m. until Friday at 2 p.m.
Malibu and much of the Southland are experiencing high winds and unseasonably hot weather, according to the National Weather Service. Malibu can expect a high of 82 on Veterans Day, with winds of up to 15 miles an hour. Temperatures will climb to 87 on Friday, with gusts as high as 30 miles an hour. Temperatures and winds will slowly decrease until Tuesday, when they will plateau around a high of 65 degrees each day.
Despite the high temperatures and winds, no formal fire warnings have been issued. Still, with just 8-25% humidity and high temperatures and winds continuing until Saturday, the NWS warned residents to "be extra careful with anything that can start a fire" and warned that despite recent rain the area is still in high fire season.
