Woman's Death In Malibu Mountains Prompts Sheriff's Investigation

Homicide detectives are investigating the death, which occurred Monday evening.

MALIBU, CA — Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman who lived in the unincorporated Santa Monica Mountains near Malibu.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department was dispatched to a location on Westlake Boulevard north of Malibu at around 7:15 p.m. Monday in response to a caller who reported a medical emergency, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported.

Paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“This investigation is ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a release.
