405 & 105 Freeway Connector Closures Begin Next Week

Here's what you need to know, and how to (try to) avoid getting stuck in traffic.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – State officials announced Wednesday that the connector from the northbound San Diego 405 Freeway to the eastbound Glen Anderson 105 Freeway will be closed through the winter starting next week on September 27.

The long-term closure is part of a $4.3 million roadway and embankment repair project that will involve both connectors of I-105 in the cities of Hawthorne and El Segundo, according to Caltrans.

The project began in March and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2018. Officials said drivers will be able to detour by exiting the northbound 405 at Imperial Highway and driving east to reconnect with I-105.
