79 MBers Finish L.A. Marathon

It's quite an accomplishment to complete a marathon. See who did here.

Out of a registered 100 Manhattan Beach residents, 79 had completed the 28th annual Los Angeles Marathon, as of 3:45 p.m. Sunday.

MBers ranged in age from 18 to 69, with 26-year-old Ryan Ung recording the best time with a 6 minute, 25 second pace to finish in 2 hours, 48 minutes and 18 seconds.

Manhattan Beach's William Graves, 69, finished in 6 hours, 55 minutes and 41 seconds as the oldest resident to complete the marathon.

The youngest runners, at 18, were Brian Deemer in 4 hours, 12 minutes and 33 seconds; Connor Riley in 4 hours, 12 minutes and 33 seconds; Nikki Glalketsis in 4 hours, 29 minutes and 11 seconds, who ran the best time among MB women, and Max Farkas in 4 hours, 37 minutes and 1 second.

Julie Weiss, 42, of Santa Monica, who completed 52 marathons in 52 weeks in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the Manhattan Beach-based nonprofit, , finished in five hours, 17 minutes and 44 seconds.

Aleksandra Duliba of Belarus won the women's race Sunday in 2 hours, 26 minutes and 8 seconds. The race's fastest runner, Erick Mose set a personal record with an official time of 2 hours, 9 minutes and 44 seconds.
