MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Voters in Manhattan Beach will have two 24-hour drop boxes to submit their Nov. 3rd election voting materials into, as well as two pop-up vote centers where in-person assistance will be available, said City Clerk Liza Tamura last Wednesday during Mayor Richard Montgomery's "Coffee With The Mayor" virtual event.

Tamura relayed the new information after Montgomery fielded a comment about "the tremendously long lines" to vote in the last election. Voting in the Nov. 3rd election will be "Vote By Mail ballot only," said Tamura. The two drop box locations in the city will be announced soon. "You can drop your ballot at the drop box on election day," she said. The pop-up vote centers will be a place where voters can get a replacement ballot for soiled ones.

Los Angeles County is handling the counting of the ballots for the Nov. 3rd election. Tamura and her team last week just met with County officials for the first time to discuss the mechanics of the election, such as how people can vote and where.

Voters who mail in their ballots or drop them in one of the city's two drop boxes will be able to confirm that their ballots have been received, said Tamura. The county intends to post the names associated with every ballot to reassure voters their ballots have been received. Those details are forthcoming. Tamura also said her office will do "extensive outreach and education" surrounding the Nov. 3rd election voting processes.
