MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A man has been tied to 47 felony vandalism cases in Manhattan Beach, according to police.
Ryan Cifuentes, 36, of Inglewood, was booked into the local police department, authorities said, noting investigators secured evidence supporting charges in the dozens of cases.
The investigation began a year ago, when police started receiving reports of vehicle vandalism in the city, according to a news release published last week by the department. Patterns suggested the crimes were likely committed by the same person, police said.
In February, officers responding to a vehicle vandalism report identified the license plate of a suspect vehicle, according to police, which led detectives to find and arrest Cifuentes, who later confessed.
Cifuentes is believed to be connected to additional vandalism to vehicles in El Segundo, Gardena and Torrance, police said, adding agencies are working together to resolve the cases.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Dean Ajdukovic at 310-802-5133 or Detective Sgt. Scott Combs at 310-802-5123.
