MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — California Highway Patrol has issued a statewide Ebony Alert for a 13-year-old South Bay girl who disappeared in Inglewood this week, and authorities are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to call 911.

Parys Jones was last seen at about 3 p.m. Wednesday near Hargrave Street and Welton Way, according to an Ebony Alert activated Thursday by CHP on behalf of the Inglewood Police Department.

Jones is described as 5-foot-4, about 200 pounds, with blonde hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a beige T-shirt and blue jeans and is believed to be on foot.

The neighborhood where Jones was last seen is near North Park and Centinela Elementary School in Inglewood.

California's Ebony Alert program was established in 2024 to help law enforcement quickly locate missing Black people between the ages of 12 and 25. Under state law, agencies may request an alert when someone disappears under suspicious or unexplained circumstances or other factors indicate the person may be in danger. The California Highway Patrol coordinates the alerts on behalf of local law enforcement agencies.

Anyone who sees Jones or has information about her whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
