• Treasure Hunter Sues USC Basketball's Eric Musselman After Beach Altercation (ledger-enquirer.com) — A recent lawsuit centers on a September confrontation on Manhattan Beach, where a treasure hunter filming with a metal detector says USC basketball coach Eric Musselman verbally berated him during a team outing. The suit claims severe emotional distress and argues USC should have better supervised Musselman, who is also facing a separate legal complaint from a former player.
   

• Fall competition begins this weekend at Manhattan Beach (thesundevils.com) — Manhattan Beach Pier will host the 2026 SCE West Coast Championship this Friday through Sunday, bringing Arizona State's Sun Devil Beach Volleyball team to town for a pairs tournament. Local fans can watch high-level collegiate play on the sand and follow detailed results online as ASU debuts new transfers, freshmen, and returning standouts after another strong season.
