Manhattan Beach, CA — The City of Manhattan Beach Cultural Arts Division invites the public to an evening concert featuring Chuck Johnson and the CJS Quintet on Saturday, October 22nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joslyn Community Center located at 1601 North Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Chuck is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, and was surrounded by music early in his life. Originally an Electrical Engineering student, Chuck's initiation to the saxophone occurred at the University of Evansville, and launched what would become not only his primary passion in life, but a flourishing career as well. Chuck Johnson has been busy making a name for himself in Los Angeles with the CJS Quintet, a hard bop group he founded in early 2000, with co-leader and trumpeter James Smith.
