Manhattan Beach's first-ever, Earth Day-inspired, community tree-planting event is scheduled for April 18 at Veterans Parkway.
The City of Manhattan Beach and environmental education non-profit Grades of Green are inviting community members to participate in the City's first community tree planting event, scheduled for 9:30 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 18.
Community members and students from each Manhattan Beach Unified school and American Martyrs Catholic School will plant eight California-native western sycamore trees along the Veterans Parkway across from the Joslyn Community Center.

There will also be educational resources and activities for all ages provided, according to the City.
An opening ceremony with Manhattan Beach Mayor David Lesser is scheduled to kick off the tree planting.
