2 Injured In Crash That Shut Down Vista Del Mar In El Segundo
Streets in El Segundo and Manhattan Beach were shut down well into Wednesday morning, leading to traffic congestion.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – Two people were injured when a Shelby Cobra sports car crashed on Vista Del Mar in El Segundo Tuesday evening, CBS Los Angeles reported. The single-car wreck, which happened sometime before 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, shut down Vista Del Mar between Grand Avenue and 45th Street while El Segundo police continued to investigate the collision Wednesday.
The driver, a 75-year-old Hermosa Beach man, was rushed to the hospital with critical injures; his passenger, a 27-year-old Hawthorne man, was also hospitalized with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.
Initially, police told CBS2 that a man had died in the crash, but that was later corrected, according to the news station.

In Manhattan Beach, police shut down Rosecrans Avenue from Sepulveda to Highland in Manhattan Beach for a traffic investigation. The street reopened by 10:38 a.m., but was shut down again less than 20 minutes later.
Drivers have been complaining about the traffic on Twitter, with one user writing "The cops shut down Manhattan Beach...it’s been an hour and I’m still not out of it..."
