Detectives Investigate Death Of Injured Man Found In Hawthorne

The man was found injured in Hawthorne, near its border with Inglewood and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

HAWTHORNE, CA – An investigation by Sheriff's homicide detectives was underway Friday regarding the death of a man who was found injured in Hawthorne, near its border with Inglewood. The man was reported to authorities at 6:24 p.m. Thursday in the 3700 block of West Imperial Highway, near Prairie Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is assisting Hawthorne police in the investigation.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Deputy Trina Schrader. The nature of his injuries were not immediately disclosed and the man's cause of death was under investigation.
