DUI Checkpoint In Manhattan Beach This Weekend
MBPD will be taking a "zero tolerance" approach to send a clear message to those who don't designate a sober driver.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – The Manhattan Beach Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday, Oct. 13 from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. The purpose of the checkpoint is to promote public safety, increase the awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and deter impaired driving and unlicensed driving, MBPD said in a press release. This checkpoint will be conducted in partnership with the California Office of Traffic Safety, and funding for this checkpoint is provided to MBPD by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
The intent of the checkpoint is to encourage sober designated drivers, and MBPD will be taking a "zero tolerance" approach to send a clear message to those who don't designate a sober driver. The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
