DUI Checkpoint In Manhattan Beach This Weekend

If you're over the legal limit you'll be arrested, MBPD warned.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – A DUI/Driver's License checkpoint will be conducted by the Manhattan Beach Police Department this Saturday, April 14 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. The purpose of the checkpoint is to promote public safety, increase the awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and deter impaired driving and unlicensed driving, according to the MBPD press release.

The intent of the checkpoint is to encourage sober designated drivers, and their “Zero Tolerance” approach to enforcement sends a clear message to those who still don’t heed the warning to designate a sober driver before celebrations begin, the press release said. If you're over the legal limit you'll be arrested, MBPD warned.

The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.
