Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing Into 2 Cars On Hawthorne Blvd.

A motorcyclist was killed after colliding into another vehicle in Torrance, police said Monday.

TORRANCE, CA – A fatal crash involving a motorcyclist and another vehicle occurred in Torrance, police said Monday. The crash took place in the northbound lanes of Hawthorne Boulevard and Halison Street about 9:13 p.m. Sunday, a Torrance police spokesman, Sgt. Ronald Harris, told City News Service.

The 48-year-old victim, who was riding a 2006 Kawasaki, died at the scene of the crash about 9:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Hawthorne Boulevard and Halison Street, according to Torrance police Lt. Jeremiah Hart. The man's name was withheld pending notification of his family.

The two-wheeler had been northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard and collided with a 2002 Toyota Sequoia and a 2016 Toyota Prius, according to Hart, who said the initial investigation indicated the motorcyclist had attempted to pass between the two vehicles. The bike collided with the Sequoia, then the Prius, and the rider was ejected, Hart said.
