MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Early in the morning after the tree-lighting ceremony on the Manhattan Beach Pier, resident Anastasia Brien took this photo of the twinkling lights.

"It’s amazing what a little bit of jet lag can bring!" Brien said. "I’m not typically a morning person but this photo captures the excitement and beauty of the holiday season in our beautiful town. "

Along with the festive lights, are these quaint trees at the pier that have become a community staple. Resident Nikki Ridley managed to get a photo of them.

"Thanks to the generosity of Brett Zebrowsky and a few of his elves, our annual display of trees will stay, hopefully, until Fireworks on December 11," Ridley said. "We used to rent the trees and they were gone before Thanksgiving. Be sure to go to our pier to view, if you have not done so before."
