Free Concerts in the Park on Sundays

This summer from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sundays, the Polliwog Park Amphitheater is the site of the City of Manhattan Beach's free Concerts in the Park series. Read what a mom and blogger wrote about her experience at one of the outdoor concerts.

Summer is in full swing in Manhattan Beach, so enjoy the great outdoors at one of the city-sponsored free outdoor concerts at Polliwog Park. Concerts are held on Sundays from 5 to 7 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served. 

Here's the lineup:

July 15: Tom Nolan Band, R&B and Motown sounds

Aug. 5: The Swing Kings, swing

Aug. 12: The Sin Twins, rhythm and blues revue

Aug. 19: The Surftunes, Beach Boys tunes and surf music

Aug. 26: Fantastic Diamond, Neil Diamond tribute 

Sept. 2: Bella Donna, Fleetwood Mac cover band

According to the city website:

"These performances are open seating and free to the public. There are no dogs, barbecues or wheeled vehicles allowed at any time in the concert area. Pop-up (open air) tents and umbrellas are allowed in the concert area before and after the concerts only. All such items must come down during the concert. We also recommend low backed beach chairs so you do not obstruct the view of those behind you. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated."
