Gray Whales Migrating Through Area

Gray whales spotted in South Bay waters.

More  have been spotted moving through local waters as they head for their calving grounds in the Baja lagoons.

"We are seeing more and more gray whales all the time," reported Danny Salas from Harbor Breeze Cruises in Long Beach.

In addition, huge pods of dolphin have been spotted off neighboring Redondo Beach, Marina del Rey, Long Beach, Corona del Mar, and San Clemente shores.

Call the Pt. Vicente Interpretive Center to find out if they're seeing any from land or contact a whalewatching business.

The recent forecast also should continue fine rockfish bite in the area. Boats from San Clemente to the Santa Monica Bay continue to reel in good numbers of bottom dwellers including lingcod.
