LAX to See Record Number of Travelers Over Labor Day Weekend
More than 800,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport from Friday through Monday. Friday is expected to the busiest.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles International Airport will see a record number of travelers this Labor Day weekend, with more than 800,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport, officials said Thursday.
The projection of 817,000 passengers scheduled to come through LAX from Friday through Monday is 7.2 percent more than the 762,000 people that passed through the airport during last year's holiday weekend.
Friday is projected to be the busiest day, with about 223,000 travelers, while Monday will bring 219,000 passengers to LAX.

Airport officials warned travelers to account for slower-than-usual traffic in the Central Terminal Area when planning their trip to LAX. They also advised motorists to check their Waze smartphone navigation app, which contains road closure and traffic condition information provided by the airport.
