Lockdown Drills Scheduled At All MBUSD Schools Today

"We want parents, students and the community to know that this is only a training drill and not to be alarmed," MBPD said.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – Lockdown drills are scheduled throughout the day for all Manhattan Beach Unified Schools Wednesday, police said.

Police and fire officials will have a heavy presence on the Mira Costa High School Campus, and visitors should avoid the school in the morning hours, the school district said.

"We want parents, students and the community to know that this is only a training drill and not to be alarmed," the Manhattan Beach Police Department said. "Training drills like this are necessary to protect the children and the employees in the event of an emergency on campus."
