Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Young Girl In Torrance Home

If convicted as charged, the man faces a possible maximum sentence of 32 years in state prison.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in her Torrance home last month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced. Kenneth Collard, 51, was charged with three counts of lewd act upon a child and one count of sexual penetration by foreign object. Arraignment will be scheduled at a later date.

On April 4, Collard was staying at a friend's house in Torrance, according to the District Attorney's Office. During the middle of the night, he allegedly entered the victim's bedroom and is accused of sexually assaulting her. The incident was reported to law enforcement, and the case remains under investigation by the Torrance Police Department.

Prosecutors are recommending bail be set at $400,000. If convicted as charged, Collard faces a possible maximum sentence of 32 years in state prison, the press release said.
