Manhattan Beach Chef Competes On Food Network's 'Iron Chef'
David LeFevre, "Iron Chef Gauntlet" competitor, owns the restaurants Manhattan Beach Post, Fishing With Dynamite, and The Arthur Jay.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – Catch Manhattan Beach local and restauranteur David LeFevre on season 2 of 'Iron Chef Gauntlet,' which premiered last week on Food Network. The 45-year-old owns the seafood restaurants Manhattan Beach Post and Fishing With Dynamite, along with the steakhouse The Arthur Jay. He's one of five competitors on the Food Network show, Daily Breeze reported.
The first episode aired April 18, and competitors participated in a Chairman's Challenge, where they showed off their ability to create a dish that was based on cuisine from one of five countries. Each competitor picked their country at random out of a hollow globe, Orange County Register reported. LeFevre, who has been nicknamed "LeFlavor" on the show, reached in, pulled out the Japanese flag, and fist-pumped, according to the newspaper.
“If you want to be talented in seafood, you can’t ignore Japan because it’s such a seafood-driven culture,” LeFevre told the Orange County Register.

Host Alton Brown picked his least-favorite dish from the Chairman's Challenge, and then the loser participated in the Secret Ingredient Showdown against another Iron Chef hopeful that was picked by the Chairman’s Challenge winner. Last week, challenge winner Hong Thaimee, a chef from New York, picked LeFevre to go against Chairman’s Challenge loser Saskatoon chef Dale MacKay, according to Daily Breeze.
“I picked Chef LeFevre because he is a strong competitor,” Thaimee said.

“Chef LeFevre is a great chef,” MacKay told the newspaper. “He’s been around the block, and he is not an easy competitor to beat.”
Watch LeFevre on next week's episode of Iron Chef Gauntlet, which airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on The Food Network.
