Manhattan Beach Monthly Crime Report: Burglaries Up, Assaults Down
There were 3,780 calls for service in Manhattan Beach in February, and 56 arrests were made, according to police data.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — There were 3,780 calls for service in Manhattan Beach in February, and 56 arrests were made, according to newly released police data.
Of the reported crimes, the largest amount, 34, were larcenies (non-vehicle burglaries). The number was actually down by two from the prior month, data show.
The second-highest crime category was vehicle burglaries. Thirteen were reported last month, up by four from January.

The number of residential burglaries also rose: four were reported last month, double the number from the month before. Other types of robberies also rose, with four being reported in February, compared to just one the prior month.
Other categories saw declines, however, including assaults, which declined 50% from six to three from January to February; and auto theft, which saw just one case last month, compared to four the month before.

Arrests for DUI and municipal code violations are not included in the statistics.
