MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – The Manhattan Beach Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project to increase public awareness about breast cancer and to raise funds for the fight against it.
During the month of October, MBPD employees will demonstrate their support of breast cancer awareness by wearing pink shoulder patches on their uniforms. The patches are intended to "stimulate conversation within the community and to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer," the press release said.
"The project is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs' Association and over 300 public safety agencies nationwide," MBPD said.
