Pedestrian Hit While Crossing Street In Torrance

The man was walking outside of a crosswalk when he was struck, police said.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – A pedestrian was injured when he was struck by a vehicle Monday evening while crossing a Torrance street. The crash was reported at 8:15 p.m. in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Ocean Avenue, police said, and it shut down a portion of the eastbound lanes on Pacific Coast Highway.

The man was walking outside of a crosswalk when he was struck, police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were believed not to be life-threatening. The driver remained at the scene to speak with investigators.

Police closed the eastbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway from Anza Avenue to Hawthorne Boulevard for the investigation.
