MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach Resident Nikki Ridley wakes up bright and early these days to catch shots of the beach, including this shot that she said has a tropical look to the palm trees near the pier.

"I almost can feel the scented breezes of Hawaii. However, our weather is much different," Ridley said. "I was very lucky to catch this shot was just after dawn."

Ridley took this next photo at sunrise.

"My favorite time of year is Fall. Just after the time change, we are able to enjoy beautiful sunrises," Ridley said "The light changes dramatically. You just need to be up very early to catch them."
