Police Search For Suspect Offering Child Candy In Manhattan Beach

The man approached the young girl on two separate occasions – once on foot, and once from a vehicle, police say.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – The Manhattan Beach Police Department are searching for a suspect accused of annoying a child. On Oct. 29 at approximately 2 p.m., MBPD responded to the area of the 500 block of Valley Drive in regard to a suspicious male.

A young female was walking alone when an adult male walked up behind her and offered her candy and asked her age. The juvenile attempted to escape the man by running to a friend's house. While walking back home, the juvenile saw the same man inside of a vehicle, the MBPD press release claimed. The male told the juvenile she shouldn't be out by herself, and that she should get into his vehicle so he could drive her home.

The juvenile ran away to her residence.
