Rally For Iowa Football Team to be Held in Front of USS Iowa

A pep rally will be held in front of the retired battleship USS Iowa today for the University of Iowa football team, one day before it faces Stanford in the Rose Bowl Game.

The rally will also include an inflatable football maze and other football-themed games.

Admission to tour the battleship, which is docked in the Port of Los Angeles, is free year-round to Iowa residents, with proper identification, such as a valid Iowa driver’s license. Admission is also free to non-resident University of Iowa students with valid student identification through Jan. 31.

Admission to tour the battleship is also free through Jan. 31 to anyone with a valid Metro TAP card, Metro employee identification or Los Angeles County identification. Metro’s new Silver Line Express stops in front of the battleship.
