Rapist Breaks Into Manhattan Beach Home And Attacks Woman

Police are searching for a man who entered the victim's home through the front door, sexually assaulted her, and then fled.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA – A victim was raped in her Manhattan Beach home over the weekend, the Manhattan Beach Police Department said Monday. MBPD officers responded to a home Sunday around 9 p.m. in the 900 block of Valley Drive regarding a sexual assault and rape.

The victim told police she arrived home around 8:30 p.m., and shortly after, a male suspect entered her home through the front door. The suspect then sexually assaulted and raped the victim before leaving through the front door and out of sight, police said. It's unknown if the suspect fled the location on foot or in a vehicle, MBPD said.

The victim wasn't physically injured, but she was transported to the hospital for a sexual assault evaluation. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 40s with an athletic build, clean-cut, 6’2” tall, medium complexion, possible thin mustache, according to police. He was wearing tan shorts, a dark t-shirt and gray tennis shoes.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help with anyone who may have seen this suspect in the area at the time of this crime. Police are also asking residents in the area to check their video surveillance systems for the suspect.
